Fishing Regulations & Information

Please Note: McIntosh Lodge on Canyon Lake is located in Zone 4. There are two types of licenses available to you: conservation or sportsman. A conservation license allows you 2 Walleye, 2 Smallmouth Bass, and 2 Northern Pike in possession. The sportsman allows you 4 Walleye, 4 Smallmouth Bass, 4 Northern Pike, 1 Muskie, and 2 Lake Trou in possession. Please call or email us if you would like further details.

Muskie Fishing Regulations

• Ontario Location: Zone 4
• Open Season: 3rd Saturday in to Dec. 15
• Limit - Sport License: 1 in your possession
• Limit - Conservation License: Zero in your possession
• Special Size Restrictions: Muskie must be 40 inches or greater (Please release)

Walleye Fishing Regulations

• Ontario Location: Zone 4
• Open Season: 3rd Saturday in May to Dec. 31
• Limit - Sport License: 4 in your possession
• Limit - Conservation License: 2 in your possession
• Size Restrictions: Only one greater than 18.1 inches (please release)

Northern Pike Fishing Regulations

• Ontario Location: Zone 4
• Open Season: Open all year
• Limit - Sport License: 4 in your possession
• Limit - Conservation License: 2 in your possession
• Size Restrictions Sport License: Zero Pike between 27.6 and 35.4 inches. Only one greater than 35.4 inches.

Smallmouth Bass Fishing Regulations

• Ontario Location: Zone 4
• Open Season: Open all year

• Limit - Sport License: 4 bass between (July 1 - Nov. 30)
• Limit - Sport License: 2 bass between (Jan. 1 - June 30)

• Size Restrictions - Sport License: No Size limit between (July 1 - Nov. 30)
• Size Restrictions - Sport License: Less than 13.8 inches between (Jan. 1 - June 30)

• Limit - Conservation License: 2 bass between (July 1 - Nov. 30)
• Limit - Conservation License: 1 bass between (Jan. 1 - June 30)

• Size Restrictions - Conservation License: No Size limit between (July 1 - Nov. 30)
• Size Restrictions - Conservation License: Less than 13.8 inches between (Jan. 1 - June 30)

Lake Trout Fishing Regulations

• Ontario Location: Zone 4
• Open Season: January 1 to Sept. 30
• Limit - Sport License: 2 in your possession
• Limit - Conservation License: 1 in your possession
• Size Restrictions: Only 1 over 22 inches from Sept 1 to Sept. 30 (Please release)

Whitefish Fishing Regulations

• Ontario Location: Zone 4
• Open Season: All Year
• Limit - Sport License: 12 in your possession
• Limit - Conservation License: 6 in your possession
• Size Restrictions: No size limit
